John Ambrefe, the only coach the Casper Coyotes juniior hockey team has had in its 3 year existence has resigned. According to a release, Ambrefe and the local ownership group came to an impasse over staffing decisions and the direction of the organization. Under Ambrefe, the Coyotes made the Western States Hockey League playoffs 3 years in a row. In the 2014-2015 season, Casper posted a record of 32-11-3, followed by a 37-12-3 campaign in the 2015-16 season. The Coyotes went 29-17-6 this past season and lost to Ogden in the 2nd round of the WSHL playoffs. Ambrefe previously coached junior hockey in Palm Beach, Florida and in Philadelphia.
