Broncos Win Fifth Straight, 30-23 Over Chargers-Daily Sports Update

The Denver Broncos improved to 7-3 by winning their fifth straight game beating AFC West  rival San Diego 30-23 on Sunday afternoon in Denver. Linebacker Von Miller had 3 sacks and forced a couple of fumbles. On offense, quarterback Peyton Manning threw for 270 yards and 3 touchdowns and an interception. San Diego drops to 4-6 and have lost 5 of their last 6 games.

The Wyoming Cowboys picked up their third win in a row as they held off UNLV on Saturday afternoon 30-23 in Las Vegas. Cowboy quarterback Brett Smith had a great first half throwing for 374 yards and 3 touchdowns. But the Pokes offense did virtually nothing in the second half. Wyoming got a key defensive play from Marquestion Huff who stripped UNLV’s Caleb Herring of the ball as he was about to cross the goal line for a touchdown, off a fake field goal attempt. The Cowboys (4-7) close out the season by hosting San Diego State this Saturday.

The Casper College men spilt and the women swept their games in this weekend’s Pizza Hut Basketball Invitational at Erickson Gym. The T-Bird men after losing to Salt Lake Community College Friday night, beat South Idaho 81-76 on Saturday night. The will play host to Northeastern JC of Sterling tonight at 7:30pm on AM 1400 ESPN.

The Lady T-Birds won all three of their games over the weekend. They beat NJC Saturday night 70-46. Casper will be at Western Nebraska Tuesday night and can be heard on AM 1400 ESPN.

Auto racing on the NASCAR Circuit came to a close for their season on Sunday in Homestead, Florida as Brad Keslowski won his first overall championship by finishing 15th. He beat five-time champion Jimmie Johnson by 20 points who finished 36th. Johnson’s teammate Jeff Gordon won the race.
