New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano, who is due to hit free agency after this season, has fired his agent, Scott Boras, and replaced him with a representative associated with Jay-Z's Roc Nation. No one's sure quite how this will play out, but Cano will likely be seeking a long-term deal in the $200 million range. [N.Y. Times]

The Oakland Raiders have traded quarterback Carson Palmer to the Arizona Cardinals for a seventh-round draft pick, in the latest round of QB musical chairs this off-season. [S.I.]

Rutgers men's basketball coach Mike Rice is known for his, um, intense style. Turns out that style went double during practice. Footage of Rice physically and verbally abusing his players has leaked, but it looks as though Rice will keep his job. [USA Today]
