UNDATED (AP) — Red-hot Vladimir Tarasenko scored on a power play early in the third period and the St. Louis Blues extended their winning streak to six games with a 1-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils. Tarasenko has seven goals in last five games and the winning goal in two straight games.

Jake Allen stopped 26 shots in earning his second straight shutout in ending the Devils' two-game winning streak.

__ Chicago stunned Montreal 5-0 at the Bell Centre. Corey Crawford notched the shutout with 28 saves for his 11th career shutout. The Canadiens have lost three straight games. Kris Versteeg scored twice.

— Sean Monahan scored the winning goal for Calgary at 4:17 of OT in the Flames' 4-3 win in Washington. Alex Ovechkin (oh-VECH'-kin) became the leading scorer in Capitals' history, raising his career point total to 827 with a pair of assists in the loss. Washington has lost five straight.

— Brad Marchand scored 3:27 into overtime to lift the Boston Bruins to their ninth straight win over the Florida Panthers, 2-1. With the overtime loss, the Panthers have scored points in their last seven games.

— Jakub Voracek (YAH'-kuhb VOHR'-rah-chehk) scored two goals, and Steve Mason made 35 saves to earn his first win of the season as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-1.

— Nick Bonino scored two goals, Ryan Miller made 20 saves and the Vancouver Canucks rallied to beat the Colorado Avalanche 4-2.

— Mike Smith stopped 28 shots, Sam Gagner scored in his second straight game and the Arizona Coyotes held off the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2.

— Andrew Ladd, Mark Scheifele (SHIHF'-lee) scored power-play goals 2:36 apart in the first period and beat the Nashville Predators 3-1.

__ Pittsburgh downed Minnesota 4-1. Thomas Greiss made 33 saves while extending Pittsburgh's shutout streak to 205 minutes and 28 seconds.

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Gordie Howe's family says the 86-year-old hockey Hall of Famer who had a stroke last month has been "recovering at a remarkable rate" over the past week.

The family released a statement through the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night. The family cited improvements in Howe's speech and his ability to walk with the assistance of a walker, and thanked "friends and fans worldwide for their prayers and incredible outpouring of support."
