The Casper Ghosts lost their third straight game last night 12-3 to Missoula. Missoula banged out 12 hits in the contest, Casper managed just six.

Game two of the four game series in Missoula tonight at 7:05pm on AM 1400 ESPN.

American Legion Baseball Tournaments move into their second day of action today after the opening rounds Thursday. The Casper Oilers playing in the North Division in Gillette beat Cody 12-2.  DeLane Doyle threw a complete game with the Oilers, scattering sevening hits and two runs. The Oiler (27-33) will play the host team Gillette tonight at 7:00pm. Gillette knocked off Lovell 18-1. Other first round action had Douglas over Powell 12-4 and Sheridan ripping  Riverton 21-3. Douglas will face Sheridan in the other semi at 4:00pm. In loser-out action, Powell plays Riverton at 10am followed by Lovell and Cody at 1:00pm. The top four teams advance to the state tournament in Cheyenne next week. In the South District in Torrington, in the first round had Cheyenne over Green River 18-1, Laramie doubling up Evanston 14-7, Torrington edging Rock Springs 7-6 and Wheatland over Jackson 8-5.

In the Major Leagues, the Colorado Rockies blew a three run lead and lost to the Atlanta Braves 9-6 Thursday afternoon in Denver. Jason Hayward and Freddie Freeman each homered for the Braves. The Rockies also received some potentially bad news as outfielder Carlos Gonzalez appeared to reinjure his wrist. The Rockies will be at Arizona for a weekend series starting tonight.

And the Wyoming Coaches Association All-Star events will be played Saturday afternoon at Swede Erickson Gym at Casper College. These events North verus South have some of the best graduating seniors going head to head in their final high school matchups. The volleyball match will tip off at 2:00pm followed by the girls basketball  game at 4:00pm with boys game at 6:00pm.
