No official word about the rumored departure of the Casper Ghosts baseball team. But for the first time, the City of Grand Junction, Colorado admitted they have been talking with Ghosts owners Dick and Charlie Monfort.

The Grand Junction City Council will meet in executive session Wednesday about minor league baseball, but will not make any comment about the ongoing talks. Grand Junction has poured $5-million into renovating Spulezio Field, home of the Junior College World Series.

The Texas Rangers and the Detroit Tigers are a win away from meeting in the American League Championship Series. On Monday, both teams picked up one-run victories. In Detroit, Delmon Young's seventh inning solo home run gave the Tigers a 5-4 win over the New York Yankees. Tiger pitcher and certain CY Young Award winner Justin Verlander struck out 11 in the win. In Tampa, Mike Napoli hit a two-run homer in lifting the Rangers to a 4-3 win over the Rays. With wins tonight, Detroit and Tampa Bay  can earn their tickets to the ALCS. The National League Divisional Series resume today with St. Louis home to Philadephia with that series tied at one. Later tonight, Milwaukee will try to end the series in Phoenix against Arizona, leading two games to none.

After having a bye week the Wyoming Cowboys are back at work as they prepare for a game in Logan against Utah State Saturday evening. The Cowboys (3-1) are coming off that 38-14 loss to Nebraska on Sept. 24th. Utah State comes in at 1-3 and having lost to Auburn, Colorado State and BYU, in games they had a chance to win. The Cowboys are 10-point underdogs. Kickoff is at 6:00pm and on AM 1030 KTWO.

Junior College Volleyball tonight as Casper College is on the road to play at Sheridan. The match gets underway at 7:00pm.

The Prep Game of the Week this Friday night has Kelly Walsh (1-5) hosting Cheyenne South (0-6). Kickoff is at 7:00pm with the pregame show at 6:45 on AM 1400 ESPN.
