Casper Track Athlete Competes in Junior Olympics

Casper’s Lauren Taubert competed in the Junior Olympics last month.

Natrona County High School  track athlete Lauren Taubert recently competed in the Junior Olympics in Des Moines, Iowa. She took 5th place in the 400 meters in the 15-16 age group, 8th in the javelin and 3rd out of 37 contestants in the heptathlon;  grueling 2 day event that features, the 100 meter hurdles, the high jump, shot put, javelin, long jump, the 200 meter dash and the 800 meter run. Taubert finished first in the 300 meter hurdles at last years state track meet, and also took first in the high jump. She posted a 2nd place finish in the 100 meter hurdles and finished 3rd in the long jump. Taubert has also competed in AAU meets this summer in Boise and Houston.
