Charles Hankerson,Jr. has been fully reinstated to the Wyoming Cowboy basketball team by head coach Larry Shyatt, while Austin Haldorson is not returning to the program.

In a release from the University of Wyoming, Hankerson said,

“I would like to apologize for my actions leading to my suspension. After visiting with coach Shyatt and the staff, as well as our athletic administration, I have agreed to financially provide for my education here at Wyoming starting in the fall.

This will enable me to prove to myself, my mother and father, and our university family that I can do the right things necessary to be a productive member of our basketball team and graduate from the University of Wyoming.”

Hankerson was suspended indefinitely on February 24. He played in 27 games during the 2013-14 season before missing the final six. Hankerson averaged 5.1 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. He shot 43 percent from the field and 40 percent beyond the arc.

Earlier this week Hankerson received one year of unsupervised probation for possession of marijuana. He was fined $400 by the Albany County Circuit Court.

It was also revealed in the same release that Haldorson plans to transfer and will not return to the team next season. Shyatt said the Wyoming coaching staff and players would have no further comment.
