The Wyoming Cowboy basketball team will face UC-Santa Barbara Friday night at the AA in Laramie. The Pokes are 11-0 after disposing of Denver University on Tuesday night 71-61, thanks to some outstanding free throw shooting, 19 of 21. The Cowboys were led in scoring by Luke Martinez who poured in 25 points. UW also shot 64 percent from the floor and D-U shot 53 percent. The Cowboys beat UC-Santa Barbara earlier in the season out on the west coast.

The Wyoming Cowboy football team has signed 3 junior college players, all on the defensive side. Linebacker Malkaam Muhammad from Iowa Western. Muhammad is the brother of Cowboy player Ghali Muhammad. Lineback Jordan Stanton from Los Angeles Pierce College and safety Jesse Sampson from the College of the Canyons also in California. Also another quarterback will join the program in Tom Thornton who played his high school ball in Tempe, Arizona throwing for over 2500 yards and 20 touchdown passes his senior year.

The Natrona Mustangs host the Gillette Camels tonight at Jerry Dalton Court. The Mustangs are 3-3, losers of their last three games to Laramie and two of the Billings, Montana schools, Skyview and Senior last weekend. The Camels are 6-1 and winners of their last 5 games. Tip-off tonight is at 7:30pm with the pregame show at 7:15 on AM 1400 ESPN.

The Casper Cutthroats collegiate baseball team will have a new manager this season as Steve Stutzman will take over. He is currently on the staff at Nebraska-Kearney and also coached legion baseball with 3 teams over 7 years in Nebraska. Stutzman also coached college summer ball in Wichita, Kansas last season.
