The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team came up short in their MWC opener against San Diego State with the Aztecs coming away with a 84-77 win on Wednesday night in Laramie. The Cowgirls shot just 8 free throws on their home floor and made 7 while SDSU shot 25 free throws on the road and made 18. UW lost this game despite making 10, 3 pointers and were led in scoring by Marta Gomez with 27 on 10-15 shooting from the field. Natalie Baker chipped in 17. The Cowgirls are 7-4 overall and will host Nevada on Saturday.
