Cowgirls In WNIT; Play No. Colorado On Thursday-Daily Sports Update

The Wyoming Cowgirls will be playing in the WNIT again. They’ll host Northern Colorado on Thursday night at the AA. The Cowgirls are 24-7 and UNC is 20-12 with former Natrona County standout Stephanie Lee on their roster. The Mountain West Conference got just one team into the NCAA tournament and that was Fresno State, who won the tournament championship on Saturday. San Diego State who was the conference regular season champions were snubbed by the selection committee and will play in the WNIT.

The Wyoming Cowboy basketball team will be at home in the opening round of the College Basketball Invitational tonight when they host Lehigh at the AA. The Pokes are 19-13 overall, but finished 5-13 in the Mountain West Conference and 2-9 against teams that are playing in the NCAA tournament. Lehigh is 21-9 overall and was 10-4 in the Patriot League. Tonight’s game is at 7:00pm and will be on AM 1030 KTWO.

The Denver Nuggets won their 12th in a row by beating Chicago 119-118 in overtime Monday night in Chicago. Andre Igoudala with a 3-pointer with 7 seconds to go to put Denver out front for good. A last second Chicago basket was waived off thanks to an offensive interference call. Wilson Chandler led the way for Denver with 35 points and 9 rebounds.
