The Wyoming Cowgirls were eliminated from the Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas on Tuesday night after a 58-48 loss to Fresno State at the Thomas and Mack Center. The Cowgirls had a poor shooting first half and a 2nd half rally came up short as they fell to 7-18 overall in MWC Tournament play. UW shot just 7 free throws in the contest and were led in scoring by Marta Gomez with 14. Fresno State shot 31 free throws and made 21 and were led by Bego Faz Davalos with 19 points and 13 rebounds. The Cowgirls were a #2 seed in the tournament with Fresno coming in as a #7 seed. Wyoming is 21-9 overall and stands a decent chance of getting an WNIT bid which will be announced on Monday.
