Cowgirls Pick Up MWC Win Over UNLV-Daily Sports Update

The Wyoming Cowgirls picked up a win in Mountain West Conference play Wednesday night, a 76-54 victory over UNLV. Kayla Woodward (Sheridan) led the Cowgirls with 23 points. Chaundra Sewell added 16 as the UW improved to 14-4 overall and 3-2 in the conference. The Cowgirls will be at Air Force on Saturday.

The Wyoming Cowboys are on the road at UNLV tonight. The Pokes are 15-2 overall and 2-2 in the Mountain West Conference after beating then 15th ranked San Diego State on Saturday. UNLV is 15-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play and are coming off a loss to Colorado State last week. Tip-off is at 7:15pm from the Thomas and Mack Arena on AM 1030 KTWO.

High school basketball tonight as Natrona will host Riverton at Jerry Dalton Court at NCHS.  The girls game is at 6:00pm with boys tipping off at 7:30pm. Coverage of the boys game on AM 1400 ESPN at 7:15pm with the pregame show.

The Casper College basketball teams lost both games to Sheridan College on the road on Wednesday night. In the women’s game, the Lady T-Birds lost their second straight  62-50. The T-Birds had a rough night shooting from the field, only 27 percent as they drop to 5-3 in the Region-IX North Sub-Region standings and 16-4 overall.

The Casper College men also dropped their second straight, an 82-71 decision to the Generals. The T-Birds were led in scoring by Dominique Lee with 21 points. Casper drops to 6-2 in sub-region play and 15-4 overall. Both T-Bird teams are at home Saturday afternoon when they host Western Nebraska for Homecoming. The women’s game is at 3:00pm with the men’s game to follow at 5:00 on AM 1400 ESPN.
