UNDATED (AP) — A six-run cushion wasn't enough for the Washington Nationals on Monday as they watched their lead in the NL East shrivel to a half-game over Atlanta.

Miami completed its comeback by scoring four times in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Nats 7-6. Adeiny Hechavarria (ah-DAY'-nee eh-chah-cah-REE'-uh) tripled home the tying run and scored on Jeff Baker's two-out, walkoff single to push the Marlins to their fifth straight win.

The Marlins picked up their fifth straight win by scoring seven times over the last three innings after the Nationals built a 6-0 lead. Washington had been 30-1 when scoring at least six runs this season.

The Braves cut their deficit with a 2-0 shutout of San Diego. Ervin Santana tied a career high with 11 strikeouts while scattering five hits in eight innings. Evan Gattis snapped a scoreless tie in the seventh with his first homer in more than a month before adding an RBI single in Atlanta's third straight win.

Elsewhere in the majors:

— Milwaukee's lead in the NL Central is down to 1 ½ games over St. Louis after Jake Odorizzi (oh-doh-REE'-zee) allowed three hits in seven innings of Tampa Bay's 2-1 win over the Brewers. Troy Loney hit a two-run single in the sixth to send the Rays to their 10th victory in 11 games.

— Pittsburgh is within two games of Milwaukee after Vance Worley fired his first career shutout in the Pirates' 5-0 shutout of San Francisco. Worley gave up just four hits and helped the Bucs drop the Giants two games behind the NL West-leading Dodgers.

— Jason Castro, Marc Krauss and Matt Dominguez all homered in the sixth inning of Houston's 7-3 triumph against Oakland, which cuts the Athletics' lead in the AL West to 1 ½ games over the Angels. Chris Carter opened the Astros' power assault with a three-run blast in the third and scored on Castro's tiebreaking, two-run shot.

— Melky Cabrera homered from both sides of the plate and had five RBIs, while Ryan Goins went 4-for-5 with four ribbies in Toronto's 14-1 laugher at Boston. R.A. Dickey pitched the Blue Jays to their third straight win, yielding just a run and three hits while striking out 10 in seven innings.

— J.P. Arencibia (ar-ehn-SEE'-bee-uh) hit a tiebreaking, two-run single while Texas scored four times in the fifth inning of a 4-2 comeback win over the New York Yankees. Yu Darvish worked seven innings and improved to 10-6 despite giving up a pair of solo homers by Brett Gardner.

— Arizona outlasted Cincinnati 2-1 on Nick Ahmed's RBI single in the 15th inning. The Reds are a game under .500 at 52-53 following their ninth loss in 10 games.

— Travis d'Arnaud (dahr-NOH') was 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and two runs scored as the New York Mets thumped Philadelphia 7-1. Juan Lagares (lah-GAH'-rehs) added two hits and two RBIs to back Bartolo Colon, who surrendered 10 hits but just one run over 7 2/3 innings.

— The Cubs were 4-1 winners against Colorado as Tsuyoshi Wada (soo-YOH'-shee WAH'-dah) allowed five hits in seven innings for his first major league victory. Anthony Rizzo drove in two runs and Emilio Bonifacio (boh-nih-FAH'-see-oh) scored twice for Chicago.

UNDATED (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers have a little more infield depth following their deal with the Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs have shipped second baseman Darwin Barney and cash to the Dodgers for a player to be named. The move comes six days after he was designated for assignment by the Cubbies.

Barney won a Gold Glove in 2012 after tying the major league single-season record with 141 consecutive errorless games. But he hit just .230 with 16 RBIs in 72 games this year.

— The Toronto Blue Jays have traded right-hander Liam Hendriks and catcher Erik Kratz to Kansas City for infielder Danny Valencia. The 29-year-old Valencia hit .282 with two home runs and 11 RBIs in 36 games for the Royals.

— Tampa Bay has reinstated reliever Joel Peralta from the 15-day disabled list and designated left-hander Erik Bedard for assignment. Peralta went 2-3 with a 4.15 ERA before missing nine games with an illness. Bedard was 4-6 with a 4.76 ERA in 17 games, including 15 starts.

— The Oakland Athletics have put outfielder Craig Gentry on the 15-day disabled list because of a broken right hand suffered when he was hit by a pitch Sunday in Texas. The A's filled the roster spot by promoting outfielder Billy Burns from Double-A Midland.
