The Casper Cutthroats collegiate baseball team will not play in 2015, according to their Facebook page. The Cutthroats were without a league when the Mountain Collegiate folded after the 2014 season. The plan was to play as an independent in 2015 and join a Colorado based league in 2016. But it turned out to be a scheduling nightmare for 2015 with the Cutthroats hosting as few as 10 games at Lansing Field and playing as many as 50 road games. With that in mind, the franchise cancelled this season but plans to play in 2016. In addition, the team will have new ownership with Aaron McCreight accepting a job in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. That new ownership group has not been officially identified.
