St. Louis police arrested five people on Monday night, one of which was Denver Broncos running back Laurence Maroney.

Maroney, as well as 4 companions, were arrested on drugs and weapons allegations, but Maroney's publicist Jane Higgins said Tuesday that the player did nothing wrong.

"He holds a permit to carry a concealed weapon," Higgins said in a statement. "He was not arrested for any drugs nor was he involved in a high-speed chase. He was released without being charged with any offense and we do not anticipate he will be charged with any criminal offense."  via NFL.com

Maroney was injured after playing only 4 games after being acquired by former Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels on Sept. 14th 2010.  The running back is in the final year of his contract and his future with the Denver Broncos is uncertain at this time.
