The Denver Broncos won their 8th straight game as they beat Oakland on the road 26-13 Thursday night. Knowshon Moreno had 119 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Broncos who move their record to 10-3. Quarterback Peyton Manning threw his 30th touchdown pass of the season and Matt Prater kicked 4 field goals. The Broncos will have the weekend off as they get ready to play Baltimore a week from Sunday.

Round one of the National Finals Rodeo is in the books at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. Frank Gambino has a wrap up of that first night in his daily sports update at the bottom of this sports page.

Women's college basketball as the Wyoming Cowgirls improved to 6-1 on the season as they nipped the University of Montana 58-56 Thursday night in Missoula. Ashley Sickles led the Cowgirls with 18 points. The Cowgirls shot just 8 free throws the entire game, but made all of them. UW will be at Bozeman Saturday to play Montana State.

The unbeaten Wyoming Cowboys are at home tomorrow afternoon when they host Oklahoma Panhandle. The Pokes (9-0) are coming off that big come from behind victory over Illinois State Tuesday 81-67. The Cowboys trailed by as many as 19 points before coming back for the win.

In high school basketball, Kelly Walsh boys and girls are participating in the Early Bird Tournament in Gillette. The Kelly Walsh boys moved to 3-1 on the season with a 57-41 win over Rock Springs Thursday. The KW girls dropped to 0-4 as they were drilled by host Gillette 71-27. That tournament continues through Saturday.

Natrona boys and girls play host to Laramie tonight. The Fillies and Lady Plainsmen are 2-1 after the Cheyenne Tournament last weekend. The Mustangs and Plainsmen are both 3-0 after that tournament in Cheyenne. The girls tip off at 6:00pm followed by the boys at 7:30.

The Casper College men and women are back home Saturday afternoon hosting Central Wyoming of Riverton. The T-Bird teams split their games at Western Wyoming in Rock Springs on Wednesday. The men won 76-66 and women lost 61-57. The women's game is at 3:00pm with the men's game to follow at 5:00. Both games on AM 1400 ESPN.
