In the first game, Wichita State will face Louisville, while in the nightcap the Syracuse Orange are playing Michigan. Louisville and Michigan advanced yesterday with wins over Duke and Florida, respectively.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Louisville guard Kevin Ware is recovering from successful surgery on his broken right leg last night. Cardinals coach Rick Pitino visited Ware and brought him the trophy from the Midwest Regional championship game. Ware suffered the injury in the first half of yesterday's title game with Duke.

UNDATED (AP) — Two of the women's regional championship games are being played tonight. The Bridgeport, Conn., title game has Connecticut playing Kentucky while the Spokane (spoh-KAN'), Wash., championship game features Georgia and California.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Nationals start their 2013 season this afternoon with a home game against Miami. The Nationals are picked by many to not only win the National League East but the World Series. On the mound for the Nats will be Stephen Strasburg, in his first outing since being shut down by the club late last season because of surgery he had undergone on his pitching shoulder.

UNDATED (AP) — Today is opening day for many clubs in Major League baseball and that means the renewal of long-standing rivalries. In Los Angeles, the Dodgers are playing host to the World Champion Giants, while in New York the Yankees are playing the Red Sox to open the season.
