The State High School Cross Country meet was held on Saturday with beautiful conditions in Sheridan.

 

In 4A Boys, Laramie 4 peated as state champion with just 12 points. The Plainsmen went 1,3,6,8 and 9 led by Chris Henry who repeats as state champion with a time of 15.29.39. in 3a boys, Brody Smth of Cody is no stranger to the gold medal. He took first place today with a time of 15.23.33. He won state last year and is the overall state record holder in the 3200 meters. Star Valley 4 peated as state champions with 31 points. in 2A boys, Wyoming Indian won the state title for the 9th consecutive year, going 4,6 and 9. What they have done in this sport is incredible. The individual champion was Jorge Garcia of Burns/Pine Bluffs in 16.48.68

Over to 4A girls, and Cheyenne Central won the team championship thanks to a surprising first place finish by sophomore Aubrey Frentheway with a time of 18.31.21. She edged Mackenzie Marler from Cheyenne East and pre-race favorite Sydney Wendt from Gillette. In 3A, Calbi Ausman of Newcastle repeated as state champion and her winning time was 18.39.19. She is the 2 time 3200 meter champion in track. Jackson won the team championship with 27 points, going 2,3,6,8 and 10.

in 2A Pine Bluffs won the state championship for the 6th consecutive year. Jules Ward of Thermopolis repeated as the state champion with a winning time today of 19.12.50
