The Colorado Rockies dropped a 3-2,  12-inning decision to the Houston Astros Monday afternoon. The Astros, the worst team in baseball but managed to pull the win out as Brandon Barnes stroked a 2 out ground rule double that drove in the game winning run. Colorado now 27-24 as the two teams wrap up their series this afternoon.

In American Legion baseball, the Casper Oilers lost 2 games yesterday in the Cheyenne tournament. They were beaten by Team Colorado 4, 8-7. Colorado scored 3 runs in the 6th inning as Casper blew a 4 run lead. The Oilers also lost to Team Colorado 1,  9-0 to drop to 13-5 on the season. Tanner Fischer had 2 hits for the Oilers in the second game. Casper returns home tonight to meet Hit Streak of Colorado. First game of the doubleheader will be at 5:00 at Mike Lansing Field.

In the NBA playoffs, San Antonio made quick work of Memphis, winning the Western Conference Finals 4 games to none with a 96-93 victory Monday night. Tony Parker was sensational for the Spurs with 37 points, going 15 of 21 from the field. San Antonio shot 51 percent from the field. The Spurs now qualify for the NBA finals for the first time in 6 years. Tonight is game 4 of the Eastern Conference as Miami leads Indiana 2 games to one with the game on the Pacers home floor.

In the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, Chicago lived to see another day by defeating Detroit on the road 4-3 to even that series at 3 games apiece. Game 7 will be played on Thursday in Chicago.

Over the weekend in auto racing, Tony Kanaan of Brazil won an exciting Indianapolis 500. His first Indy 500 win after 12 tries. This year's race had 68 lead changes and an averaged speed of 187 MPH, an Indy 500 record.
