The Wyoming Cavalry opened up the 2012 season with a resounding loss to the Colorado Ice Sunday afternoon 72-37 in Fort Collins. Colorado owned the first half and  led 41-13, a lead the Cavs could never recover. Matt Strand threw for four TD's. The Wyoming Cavalry have their home opener this Sunday afternoon at the Casper Events Center hosting Everett Washington.

The Wyoming Cowboys lost to UNLV 74-63 on Saturday in the last game of the regualar season. The Pokes will turn around and play the Running Rebels in the opening round of the Mountain West Conference Tournament on Thursday night. The Cowboys are the sixth seeded team and UNLV is seeded third. Tip-off is at 9:30pm.

The Wyoming Cowgirls will be the fifth seeded team in the Conference tournament and will play fourth seeded TCU in the opening round Wednesday afternoon at 3:30pm.

The 3A/4A State Basketball Tournaments open up later this week. All four of the Casper schools have advanced. On the boys side, Natrona will play Gillette at noon on Thursday. Kelly Walsh will play Sheridan at 7:30pm. On the girls side, Natrona will play Cheyenne East at 9am on Thursday, and Kelly Walsh will take on Laramie at 6pm. All Natrona and Kelly Walsh games can be heard on AM 1400 ESPN.
