Volleyball Players and teams from various junior colleges across the country are converging in Casper this weekend (November 21-23, 2013), to crown a national champion.

For many of those that will be competing at this event, coming to Casper, let alone Wyoming, is quite a culture shock.

Trinity Alualu is originally from Oahu, Hawaii, and plays for Blinn College out of Texas.

She says coming to the cowboy state is a new experience.

"After I heard that there was a possibility that it would snow, I was excited. I've never felt snow before in my life. We're all freezing. Our cold in Hawaii is 60 degrees, probably, and it was 45 degrees yesterday, so it was really different."

Brittney Brown is from California and plays for the College of Central Florida.

She says driving through Wyoming, is a much different experience than what she's used to driving through.

"I'm used to the city, so all i saw was dirt...(laughing)...it was a little different. everyone loved seeing the mountains, We don't see that in Florida, so from a distance, we see it's beautiful."

The volleyball tournament starts Thursday, November 21st, and runs through Saturday at the Casper Events Center.
