UNDATED (AP) — Clayton Kershaw has made his case to be the National League starter in Tuesday's All-Star game.

The Los Angeles Dodgers southpaw, who already has a no-hitter this season, tossed a three-hitter Thursday night, striking out 11 in the Dodgers' 2-1 victory over San Diego. Kershaw has won eight straight decisions and enters his All-Star break with an 11-2 mark.

The only downer for Kershaw was he saw his scoreless innings end at 41 when Chase Headley homered in the sixth inning. That's the third-longest scoreless streak in Dodger history after Orel Hersheiser and Don Drysdale.

Kershaw's streak was the longest in the majors since Brandon Webb went 42 innings for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2007.

In other major league action:

— Atlanta is back in a first-place tie in the NL East with Washington. The Braves snapped their four-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Mets. Aaron Harang allowed four hits in seven innings in ending the Mets' four-game win streak.

— Baltimore won its 50th game by edging Washington 4-3 to take two of three in the "Battle of the Beltways." The Orioles scored an unearned run in the third inning on an error by Nationals shortstop Ian Desmond, who made the Nationals' first error in 13 games.

— Pittsburgh downed St. Louis 9-1 on an Edison Volquez six-hitter. Neil Walker, Josh Harrison, Russell Martin and Andrew McCutchen all drove in two runs for Pittsburgh, which avoided being swept in the four-game series.

— Jimmy Rollins broke up Matt Garza's no-hit bid with a single in the seventh, then opened the flood gates an inning later in Philadelphia's 9-1 win over Milwaukee. Rollins greeted reliever Will Smith with a two-run single to spark a seven-run outburst in the eighth. Garza had just been pulled from the game to a standing ovation but could only watch helplessly from the dugout as his shutout evaporated. The Phillies sent 12 batters to the plate in the eighth.

— The Cleveland Indians erupted with nine runs in their final two innings and beat the New York Yankees 9-3. Roberto Perez hit a two-run homer in his major league debut. Carlos Santana also went deep. Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter enjoyed his 1,000th multi-hit game.

— The L.A. Angels ripped Texas pitching for 15 runs in the first three innings and routed the last-place Rangers 15-6. Mike Trout hit his 21st homer, a three-run shot, to spark the Angels' 17-hit attack. The Rangers have lost five straight and 19 of 22.

— In another laugher, the Detroit Tigers rapped out 19 hits and routed Kansas City 16-4. The Tigers have won 15 of 20 to improve to 51-37. Everybody in Detroit's lineup had at least one hit and scored one run.

— All-Star Scott Kazmir struck out nine in seven scoreless innings to help the Oakland Athletics win the annual Bay Bridge series by beating the San Francisco Giants 6-1. Josh Donaldson hit a two-run homer and Stephen Vogt drove in three runs for the A's, who won three of four from the Giants.

— Mike Carp's pinch-hit single in the 10th inning gave the Boston Red Sox a 4-3 win for their second straight walk-off victory over the Chicago White Sox.

— Luis Valbuena hit a tiebreaking, two-run triple in the 12th inning to send the Cubs to a 6-4 win over Cincinnati. The victory helped Chicago avoid a rare five-game sweep. Valbuena was 0-for-4 with three strikeouts before hit key hit.

— Minnesota beat Seattle 4-2. Kendrys Morales had a two-run single for the Twins. Kyle Seager hit his 14th homer for the Mariners.

UNDATED (AP) — Cardinals All-Star catcher Yadier Molina (YAH'-dee-ehr Moh-LEE'-nuh) will undergo surgery Friday to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb. The injury will force him to miss between eight and 12 weeks. Molina was injured Wednesday when he planted his hand for balance after sliding feet-first into third base.

Elsewhere around the majors:

— Masahiro Tanaka has a partially torn ligament in his right elbow, and the New York Yankees are hoping their rookie sensation will be able to pitch again this season. Yanks GM Brian Cashman says Tanaka could return in six weeks, but didn't rule out the possibility of Tommy John surgery if the right-hander doesn't respond to a rehab program.

— Chicago White Sox pitcher Chris Sale and Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo were voted by fans onto the rosters for Tuesday's All-Star game. In another change, Los Angeles Angels shortstop Erick Aybar (EYE'-bar) will replace Kansas City outfielder Alex Gordon, who has a sprained wrist.

— Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips is expected to miss six weeks after he has surgery on Friday to repair torn ligaments in his left thumb suffered Wednesday night.

— The New York Yankees have placed outfielder Carlos Beltran on the seven-day concussion list. He was hit in the face with a ball during batting practice Wednesday.

— The Royals placed left-hander Jason Vargas on the disabled list a day after he underwent an appendectomy.

— Angels left-hander C.J. Wilson has been put on the 15-day disabled list with a right ankle sprain.

CHICAGO (AP) — Changes could be in the works for Wrigley Field, the century-old iconic home of the Cubs on Chicago's North Side. A city commission unanimously approved the Cubs' massive $500 million renovation project that includes a Jumbotron and six other electronic signs, although owners of rooftop venues across the street have vowed a court challenge if their sight lines to the games are blocked.
