The Wyoming Cowboys have added another piece for the 2016-17 basketball season with the signing of Louis Adams.

University of Wyoming head coach Allen Edwards announced the news Thursday.

The 6-4, 185-pound guard played at Odessa College in Texas and will have two years of eligibility left. Adams is a native of Chicago. He helped his team to their first NJCAA National Tournament since 2011. They won the NJCAA Region 5 Championship. Adams averaged 11.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last season. He shot 53 percent from the field and 72 percent at the foul line.

Edwards stated in a release from the university,

“To get this quality of a player this late in the recruiting process is a plus for our program here at UW. Louis brings edge, energy and excitement to what we are building here at Wyoming.”

Adams earned All-WJCAC honors last season, and helped Odessa finish with a 27-6 record. He was First-Team All-City in Chicago in 2014 and played for his father, Louis Adams Sr. at Orr Academy High School.
