A Miami New Times report released earlier this year alleged that the clinic supplied performance enhancing drugs to MLB players. It named Braun, Rodriguez, Melky Cabrera, Nelson Cruz, Gio Gonzalez, Jhonny Peralta, Bartolo Colon, Jesus Montero and others as players who may have been supplied with PEDs by the clinic.

Carrillo was disciplined for being included in the Biogenesis records and for lying to the league about his involvement. The league was able to pursue action against Carrillo more fully because he was not protected by the MLB Players' Union. The MLBPA is expected to staunchly defend Braun, Rodriguez and other major leaguers who may be investigated or threatened with discipline.
