UNDATED (AP) — The Montreal Canadiens are the first team to advance to the NHL's conference semifinals after completing a sweep of Tampa Bay. San Jose could become the second.

The Habs blew a 3-1 lead in the third period before Max Pacioretty (pash-uh-RET'-ee) scored a power-play goal with 43 seconds remaining to give them a 4-3 triumph over the Lightning. Daniel Briere (bree-EHR'), Lars Eller and Brenden Gallagher also tallied for the Canadiens, who outshot Tampa Bay 37-23.

The Lightning made things interesting when Victor Hedman and Tyler Johnson scored 3:02 apart to knot the score early in the third period.

San Jose is up 3-0 in its first-round series after rallying for a 4-3 overtime win at Los Angeles. Patrick Marleau won it by beating Jonathan Quick at 6:20 of the extra session after Tomas Hertl knotted the score midway through the third period.

Antti Niemi (nee-EH'-mee) made 28 saves for the Sharks, who can wrap up the series Thursday in L.A.

— Boston has a 2-1 series lead after Tuukka (TOO'-kah) Rask turned back 23 shots in a 3-0 shutout of the Red Wings in Detroit. Patrice Bergeron (pah-TREES' BEHR'-zhur-ahn) had a goal and an assist for the Bruins, who took a 2-0 lead on first-period goals by Dougie Hamilton and Jordan Caron.

— Martin St. Louis (mahr-TAN' san loo-EE') and Dan Girardi each had a goal and an assist as the New York Rangers beat the Flyers 4-1 in Philadelphia to take a 2-1 series lead. Henrik Lundqvist handled 31 shots and was perfect after Mark Streit (stryt) scored late in the first period.
