Larry Nance Jr. was selected by the Lakers in the 1st round of the NBA Draft

Former Wyoming Cowboy basketball player Larry Nance Jr. was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 27th pick overall in the NBA Draft on Thursday night. Nance was projected to be a 2nd round pick so his first round selection is a surprise to many. He averaged 16 points and 7 rebounds per game for the Cowboys this past season with his athleticism carrying the way on offense and defense. Nance's father, Larry Sr. was a first round selection back in 1981 by the Phoenix Suns. The last Wyoming Cowboy player drafted in the NBA was Theo Ratliff in 1995. The Lakers had the #2 pick in the draft, using it on Ohio State guard Deangelo Russell.
