There's plenty of high school football around the state of Wyoming tonight. Kelly Walsh hosts  number three Sheridan for Homecoming in the Prep Game of the Week on AM 1400 ESPN. The Trojans  are 4-3 and the Broncs are 5-2. Both teams are in the playoffs and playing for  a possibility of hosting a quarterfinal playoff game on Oct. 26th. Natrona who's been home for the most part since week 2 of the season travels to Laramie (1-6). The Top ranked Mustangs (7-0) have secured a home field for the playoffs as being one of the top two teams in 4A football. The Wyoming Cowboys will be at home to meet Air Force Saturday afternoon for the Pokes Homecoming game. The Cowboys are coming off a 35-28 overtime loss to Nevada last Saturday night in their Mountain West Conference opener, and are 1-4 overall. The Falcons lost to Navy last weekend and are 2-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Kickoff is at 5pm on AM 1030 KTWO.

In the baseball playoffs in the American League, Detroit eliminated Oakland 6-0 as Tiger pitcher Justin Verlander struck out 11. Baltimore staved off elimination with a 2-1 win over the New York Yankees in 13 innings. The 5th and deciding game of that series will be played this afternoon at 3pm.

In the National League playoffs, San Francisco who went to Cincinnati down 2 games to none, swept the Reds on their home field to win their best of 5 series, with a 6-4 win Thursday afternoon. Washington stayed alive beating St. Louis 2-1 thanks to a home run in the bottom of the 9th inning by Jason Werth. That series is even at 2 games apiece with game 5 tonight.
