The Detroit Lions snapped a two game losing streak by ripping the Denver Broncos 45-10 at Sports Authority at Mile High Stadium Sunday afternoon. It was a bad day for Denver quarterback Tim Tebow, as he was sacked seven times and had two turnovers that were turned into touchdowns.

Tebow was stripped of the football  and the Lions returned the fumble 24 yards for a touchdown. A Tebow interception was returned 100 yards for a touchdown. The Broncos (2-5) are in Oakland this Sunday. The Lions are (6-2) and have a bye.

The Wyoming Cowboys held on in the second half and picked up a big Mountain West Conference road win Saturday night at San Diego State 30-27. The Pokes were sensational on offense in the first half, with quarterback Brett Smith throwing  just four incomplete passes, with the Pokes leading 30-13. The second half was a different story as the Cowboys punted eight straight times and the defense was starting to wilt. But the defense made a last stand and UW benefited from not one but two missed field goals by San Deigo State. The Cowboys (5-2) overall and  (2-0) in conference play will host TCU Saturday at noon at Memorial Stadium.

The State Volleyball Tournaments wrapped up on Saturday at the Casper Events Center. Sheridan won the 4A title beating Laramie. Cody repeated as the 3A champions beating Douglas in the finals. In 2A, Wright won state for the first time since 1998 beating Lovell and Cokeville won their 18th title overall beating Kaycee for the championship.

On the NASCAR Championship Series, Tony Stewart won yesterday in Martinsville. Stewart has won three of the seven races in the Chase and trails Carl Edwards by eight points in the overall standings with three races remaining.
