The Casper Oilers high school hockey team took a very respectable 6th place at the national HS tournament in Reston, Virginia last week. The Oilers started out the tournament with an 8-0 win over Arkansas and followed that up with a 5-2 win over South Carolina. In the Oilers 3rd game of the tournament, Bozeman came up with a 7-3 win but Casper won a tiebreaker to advance to the quarterfinal final round. In the quarters, the Oilers lost a heartbreaker, 3-2 to Omaha. The Oilers was the first Wyoming team ever to compete in the high school national tournament.
