The Casper Ghosts dropped their seventh straight game, a 7-3 decision to Helena last night. The Brewers tallied three runs in the first and one more in the second inning to take the lead for good.

The Ghosts managed just six hits with David Kandalis and Julian Yan with two hits each. The Ghosts 9-26 here in the first half will be at Helena again tonight at 7:05pm. Adam Spolane will have all the action on AM 1400 ESPN. The two teams wrap up their series tomorrow night.

The Wyoming State American Legion Baseball Tournament opens up tomorrow in Cheyenne. The Casper Oilers will play in the opener against Wheatland at 9:30am. The other first round matchup have Laramie and Sheridan at 12:30pm, Torrington and Gillette at 4:00pm and host and defending champion Cheyenne and Douglas at 5:30pm. That tournament concludes on Saturday and Sunday if a second championship game is necessary.

The Colorado Rockies opened a series with the Los Angeles Dodgers last night losing 8-5 on the west coast. Andre Eithier led the Dodgers with a two-run homer.  The Rockies slipped to 48-55, 11-games behind San Francisco in the NL West. Game two tonight at 8:05pm at Dodger Stadium.

The NFL lock-out is finally over. The owners and players signed a new 10-year collective bargining agreement that will give the owners 53-percent of the revenues with the players getting 47-percent. Players can report to training camp starting tomorrow depending on when their first preseason game will be played. The Denver Broncos will be one of the first teams reporting tomorrow.
