It was a battle of two teams looking for their first win of the season, with Laramie getting the job done with a convincing 41-14 win over Kelly Walsh in the Prep Game Of The Week. The Plainsmen broke up a 14-0 halftime lead with four second half touchdowns and a balance rushing attack.Six different Plainsmen ran the ball with Tate Hilgenkamp leading the way with two touchdowns and 122 yards rushing on just three carries. Hilgenkamp has TD's runs of 5 and 66yards. They were also led in the rushing department by Tanner Ibarra with 17 carries and 73 yards and one touchdown. Quarterback Billy Hysong had a good night passing going 7 of 8 for 136 and one touchdown. Tyler Loose had five receptions for 101 yards and one touchdown. Laramie totaled 437 yards, with 301 of that on the ground.

For Kelly Walsh it was a mattered of very little offense for the second time this season. The Laramie defense shutdown the Trojan offense to 132 total yards with 67 on the gound and 65 passing. Quarterback Jacob Tapp was 5 of 9 for 63 yards. Casey Keith had two receptions for 38 yards including a 30 yard touchdown. One of the highlights for the Trojans was a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown for Denton Wilson in third quarter. It was the second kickoff return for a touchdown for the Trojans this season. The first was Terry Jackson returning a 99-yard touchdown against Cheyenne East in the opening game.

Laramie had 17 first downs to just five for Kelly Walsh. The Trojans were penalized six times for 50 yards and the Plainsmen seven times for 50 yards.

The Trojans are home next Friday night at Harry Geldien Stadium hosting Gillette. The Camels (3-0) beat Cheyenne East (2-1)  30-21 behind the running of Nick Bazemore who rushed for 311 yards and four touchdowns. The Plainsmen visit Cheyenne South (0-3) who lost to Sheridan 62-6. South did score their first touchdown on a Kyhler Cummings 70-yard run in the third quarter.

The Prep Game Of  The Week on Friday night September 16th on AM 1400 ESPN will have Natrona (3-0) who hung on to defeat Cheyenne Central (1-2) 20-13 Friday night, will be at Rock Spring (1-2) who lost to Evanston 34-14.
