The Angels first baseman hit a three-run shot in the first inning and a two-run drive in the fifth to finish with five RBIs. Both round-trippers came off Taylor Jordan.

Tyler Skaggs improved to 2-0 by limiting the Nationals to two runs and three hits in seven innings.

— Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Matt Moore could be sidelined 12 to 15 months after undergoing elbow ligament replacement surgery.
