The 4A regional soccer tournaments get underway today with the west in Evanston and the east in Cheyenne. Today's matches are loser out with the winner's advancing to the state tournament in Rock Springs next week. In the 4A boys West Regional, Natrona is 3-11 when they face Green River at 5pm today. Evanston and Rock Springs will kick off the tournament at 3pm. The Kelly Walsh boys with a first round bye will play Friday against the Natrona/Green River winner. On the girls side in the 4A west, Kelly Walsh at 8-6 on the season will play Rock Springs at 5pm today. Evanston and Riverton will start the tournament at 3pm. The Natrona girls with a first round bye will play tomorrow afternoon.

In junior college basketball, Remi Debo from Casper College has signed on with West Virginia. He averaged 18 points and 5 rebounds per game for the T-Birds this past season. He was 42 percent from 3 point range which is excellant and over 80 percent from the free throw line.

The Colorado Rockies lost to the New York Yankees Wednesday night 3-2 at Coors Field. The Yankees pushed a run across a run in the top of the 9th inning. Todd Helton hit a 2-run homer in the 2nd inning for the Rockies. The rubber game will be played tonight in Denver.

In the NBA playoffs from Wednesday night, Golden State evened their series with San Antonio in the Western Conference semifinals with a 100-91 win. Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 34 points. In the Eastern Conference semifinals, Miami evened their series with Chicago at a game apiece with a 115-78 thrashing of the Bulls. The Heat shot 60 percent from the floor and Chicago was called for 6 technical fouls.

Denver Nuggets Head Coach George Karl was named the NBA Coach of the Year Wednesday. He is a first time winner after being a head coach in the league for 25 years. He led the Nuggets to 57 wins this past season and has 21 straight non losing seasons.

In the Stanley Cup playoffs, Anaheim beat Detroit 3-2 in overtime so the Ducks lead that Western Conference opening series 3 games to 2. Also in the west, Los Angeles over St. Louis 3-2 . Kings lead 3 games to 2. In the Eastern Conference, the New York Rangers over Washington 4-3 to even that series at 2 games apiece. Boston beat Toronto 4-3 to lead that series 3 games to one.
