It was March 14, 1987 when junior Fennis Dembo thrust himself into the national spotlight, as he led the Wyoming Cowboys past UCLA in the NCAA Tournament.

Dembo exploded for a career-high 41 points with nine rebounds and six assists. He out-dueled UCLA star Reggie Miller, who finished with 24 points and nine boards, but also fouled out.

The Cowboys trailed by six at halftime, but out-scored the Bruins by 16 in the second half on their way to a 78-68 victory.
