UNDATED (AP) — Caleb Joseph is on a hot streak to remember. The Baltimore catcher homered for the fourth consecutive game, Miguel Gonzalez won for the first time in three starts and the Orioles beat the Toronto Blue Jays 2-1.

Joseph's drive matched an Orioles record for catchers. Ramon Hernandez in 2006 and Gus Triandos (tree-AN'-dohs) in 1959 also homered in four straight games.

The Orioles won for the fourth time in five games and lead the AL East by five games over Toronto and the New York Yankees. It was the AL-best 35th road victory for Baltimore, which has won six consecutive series.

Elsewhere:

— Jon Lester pitched a three-hitter for his fourth career shutout, and Oakland Athletics blanked Minnesota 3-0. The All-Star left-hander struck out eight in his fourth career shutout. He's 12-7.

— The L.A. Dodgers blanked the Angels 7-0 to take three of four in the Freeway Series. Hyun-Jin Ryu (hee-YUHN'-jihn YOO) won his 13th game. Hanley Ramirez and Adrian Gonzalez each drove in two.

— Wily Peralta (WIH'-lee peh-RAHL'-tah) became the first 14-game winner in the majors this season pitching Milwaukee past the Giants 3-1. Peralta earned his fifth straight victory to improve to 14-6. He struck out a career-high nine in 6 2/3 innings.

— St. Louis remained one game back of Milwaukee in the NL Central by beating Boston 5-2 as Adam Wainwright earned his 14th victory. Kolten Wong homered twice and went 3-for-4 for the Cards.

— Bryce Harper's two-run, walk-off homer gave Washington a 5-3 win over the Mets in 13 innings. The win moved the Nationals a season-high 4 1/2 games in front of second-place Atlanta in the NL East. The Braves have lost eight in a row heading into a home weekend series against Washington.

— Kyle Seager, Robinson Cano (kuh-NOH'), Endy Chavez and Dustin Ackley homered in Seattle's 13-3 rout of the Chicago White Sox.

— Shane Greene outpitched Rick Porcello in the Yankees 1-0 win over Detroit. He pitched into the ninth inning, giving up five hits and walking three to go to 3-1. Porcello came up short in his attempt to become the first 14-game winner in the majors. The Detroit starter gave up an RBI double to Stephen Drew in the fourth inning and fell to 13-6.

— Cincinnati blanked Cleveland 4-0. Homer Bailey ended his streak of three straight losses to the Indians with seven shutout innings.

— Edinson Volquez pitched one-hit ball for seven innings, Gregory Polanco drove in four runs and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Miami Marlins 7-2

— Ryan Howard hit a grand slam, capping a five-run rally in the eighth inning that lifted the Philadelphia Phillies over the Houston Astros 6-5.

— Kansas City topped Arizona 6-2. Jeremy Guthrie retired the final 19 batters in Kansas City's first complete game this season. He's 8-9.

— Rookie Javier Baez (HAHV'-ee-ayr BY'-ehz) hit two more homers and drove in four runs, leading the Chicago Cubs over the Colorado Rockies 6-2. The Cubs' 21-year-old prized prospect had an RBI single. Baez homered in his major league debut Tuesday, delivering a game-deciding shot in the 12th inning on the day he was promoted from the minors.

UNDATED (AP)— The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired right-hander Roberto Hernandez from the Philadelphia Phillies in a trade for two players to be named later or cash considerations.

The 33-year-old Hernandez is 6-8 with a 3.87 ERA in his first season with the Phillies, who signed him to a one-year, $4.5 million deal last December. He spent last year with Tampa Bay and his first seven major league seasons with Cleveland when he was known as Fausto Carmona (FOW'-stoh kar-MOH'-nuh).

Hernandez has been a starter for most of his career. He's penciled in to start Friday night against Milwaukee.

— Miami Marlins pitcher Dan Jennings was hospitalized in Pittsburgh after being hit in the head by a line drive. Marlins manager Mike Redmond said Jennings' eyes were open and he was responding to questions from the medical staff while on the mound. Jennings was diagnosed with a concussion and was kept in a hospital overnight for observation.

— Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie will be out until at least September with a left oblique strain, an injury that ended his return to the lineup after just three innings. Lawrie is batting .247 with 12 homers and 38 RBIs.
