The College of Southern Idaho won the junior college national championship on Saturday with a 3-2 win over Western Nebraska at the Casper Events Center. In a hard fought match, CSI prevailed 25-22, 23-25, 24-26, 25-22 and 15-9 to win their first national championship since 2012. Western Nebraska spent a good portion of the season as the #1 team in the country and finished the campaign 42-5. Southern Idaho was the #1 seed in the tournament and finished at 35-3. The lone Wyoming school in the tournament, Northwest of Powell took 4th place after losing to Hillsborough, Florida. It's the 2nd straight year that NWC has finished 4th in the nation.
