UNDATED (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs have opened their NBA title defense with a one-point win over a state rival.

Tony Parker drained a go-ahead, 3-pointer with 1:07 remaining to give the Spurs a 101-100 triumph over Dallas. San Antonio trailed by eight at halftime before outscoring the Mavericks 31-20 in the third period.

Parker shot 4-for-4 from 3-point range and finished with a team-high 23 points. Tim Duncan chipped in 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Manu Ginobili (MAN'-oo jih-NOH'-blee) added 20 points to the victory.

Chandler Parsons missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds to play.

Mavericks guard Monta (MAHN'-tay) Ellis led all scorers with 26 points.

In other NBA season openers:

— James Harden scored 15 of his game-high 32 points from the line as Houston ripped the Los Angeles Lakers 108-90. Terrence Jones added 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Rockets, who led by 27 midway through the final period. Lakers rookie forward Julius Randle left his NBA debut on a stretcher after injuring his right leg in the fourth quarter. TNT reported Randle has a broken leg.

— Anthony Davis just missed a triple-double in New Orleans' 101-84 win over Orlando, finishing with 26 points, 17 rebounds and nine blocks. Ryan Anderson finished with 22 points and Omir Asik (oh-MEER' A'-sihk) added 14 points, 17 boards and five blocks.
