The Wyoming High School State Track and Field Meet and Soccer Tournaments continue today in Casper, Rock Springs and Jackson. The state track meet at Harry Geldien Stadium at Kelly Walsh had quite a day for the Casper schools in the long jump. The Natrona boys went 1-2-3 as Tristin Cloward won the event at 21 feet 1 1/2 inches. Teammate Rovert Creager was 2nd and teammate Logan Wilson was 3rd.

On the girls side, Kelly Walsh's Day Timberman upset the defending champion in the event teammate Jarayah Davis. Timberman went 18 feet 4 1/2 inches. Davis went 18 feet 3 1/2 inches.

In the boys 3200 meters, Ricky Faure of Rock Springs set the 4A record with a time of 9:24.8.

State 4A Soccer Tournaments got under way Thursday in Rock Springs, and it was a clean sweep for the eastern teams and not a good day for the Casper schools as they went 0-4. The Kelly Walsh boys and the defending champions were bounced in the opening round by Cheyenne Central 2-1. Natrona was shutout by Gillette 5-0. Also, Sheridan beat Rock Springs 2-0 and Laramie over Riverton 2-0. So in the semifinals, it will be Gillette against Sheridan and Laramie will take on Cheyenne Central.

In the 4A girls division, Natrona who came in at 12-3-1 and the number 2 seed from the west was beaten by Cheyenne Central 2-0. Kelly Walsh lost to Cheyenne East 4-1. Also in the first round, Laramie crushed Riverton 7-0 and Sheridan the 4th seed in the east upset the west conference top seed Green River 2-1. In the semifinals, Laramie taking on Central with East meeting Sheridan.

In the 3A tournaments in Jackson, in the boys division Star Valley over Worland 3-2, Lander shoutout Powell 3-2, Buffalo knocked off Torrington 6-0 and Jackson the only unbeaten soccer team in the state beat Cody 4-1 to improve to 15-0. So in the semifnals, Lander faces Star Valley and Jackson takes on Buffalo.

In the 3A girls, Star Valley over Cody 3-2, Lander edged Worland 1-0, Buffalo over Torrington 3-0 and Jackson Shut out Powell 1-0. Seminfinals have Lander and Star Valley and Jackson and Buffalo. Finals for the soccer tournaments will be Saturday.
