The Casper College Lady T-Birds dropped their first game of the season on Thursday night to North Idaho 69-63 in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho. The T-Birds had won their first 7-games of the season before the loss to the defending national champions. Bailey Holland led Casper with 17 points. The T-Birds will play at Spokane, Washington tonight against Spokane CC. They return to Coeur D' Alene Saturday for a rematch with North Idaho. The Lady T-Birds return to Erickson Gym on Wednesday night when they take on unbeaten Western Wyoming of Rock Springs.

The T-Bird men are in Sterling, Colorado for a couple of matchups. Tonight the Birds will play Northeastern JC at 7:30pm and tomorrow afternoon at 3:30pm against North Platte. The T-Birds are 5-2 after winning all three of their games as they hosted the Thanksgiving Classic last week. They return home Wednesday night to host Western Wyoming. The games this weekend can be heard on AM 1400 ESPN.

The high school basketball season tipped off  Thursday for the Casper schools in the McDonald's Classic in Cheyenne. On the boys side, both NC and KW came up with wins. Natrona started off with a win over Laramie 56-40. Jake Bratton led the Mustangs with 14 points. They will play Cheyenne East tonight. Kelly Walsh defeated Cheyenne Central 47-40. Jacob Tapp led the Trojans with 16 points. They will match  up with Cheyenne South tonight.

On the girls side, the Natrona Fillies opened up the season on a good note, edging past Laramie 39-37. Kayzanne Graney led NC with 11 points. Natrona will play East tonight. Meanwhile Kelly Walsh dropped thier opener to Cheyenne Central 37-15. KW could only manage 2 points in the first half. They play South later today.

The Wyoming Cowgirls lost to Creighton in Laramie on Thursday night 66-50. The offense continues to struggle for Cowgirls as they were only 1 of 18 from 3-point land and dropped their record to 1-5. They will host the University of Montana Saturday evening at 5pm. The Wyoming Cowboy basketball team will host Bradley University at the AA tomorrow night at 8pm.

The Wyoming Cowboys travel to Fort Collins Saturday for the annual Border War football game with rival Colorado State. The Cowboys are 7-4 overall and 4-2 in the Mountain West Conference. They can finish third behind TCU and Boise State  with a win. Not bad considering the Pokes who are now bowl eligible were picked by many to finish fifth or sixth back in the preseason. Kickoff is at noon on AM 1030 KTWO.
