High school soccer begins its regional tournaments today across the state. The Denver Nuggets hope to stay alive in the NBA playoffs when they host the LA Lakers in game 6 of the opening round.

Highlights of the Sunday, April 22nd legion baseball game, between the Gillette Roughriders and the Casper Oilers.

The Colorado Rockies lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-2 at Coors Field Sunday afternoon. The Casper Oilers legion team dropped a couple of games to Cheyenne over the weekend.

The Casper Oilers finished third in the State American Legion Baseball Tournament that wrapped up on Saturday. The Oilers lost to Gillette 9-8 in the Consolation Semis.

Colorado  got a strong pitching performance  from Aaron Cook as the Rockies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 Wednesday night. Cook(2-5) who missed the first two months of the season with a broken finger threw seven innings of shutout baseball.

The Casper Ghosts lost to the Helena Brewers Wednesday night 10-3 as the two teams wrapped up their series in the capital city. The Ghosts have tonight off before opening a home series Friday night at Lansing Field against Orem.

The Casper Oilers have advanced to the Wyoming State American Legion Baseball Tournament with two come from behind wins Saturday in the North Division Tournament in Gillette. The Oilers came back from a 4-1 deficit to Powell to eliminate the Pioneers 13-12 Saturday morning.

The Casper Oilers American Legion Baseball team went 1-2 in the opening games of the 2011 season in their Snowball Series at Mike Lansing Field. The Oilers spilt on Saturday losing to Cheyenne 7-2 and beating Jackson 20-3. Casper lost to Gillette Sunday 20-7. Cheyenne Post 6 is the two-time defending state champions and winner of nine of the last ten state tournaments.
