The final Wyopreps.com/Coach's/Media polls for 2A and 1A boys basketball is out this week, prior to their regional tournaments. Unbeaten Big Horn (22-0) and Snake River (20-2) are the number one ranked teams in their respective divisions.
The top two teams in 4A girls basketball stumbled last week. Top ranked Sheridan lost to third ranked Gillette 74-59 and second ranked Laramie lost to unranked Cheyenne East 52-49.
The West All-Stars beat the East All-Stars in the annual NBA All-Star game in LA on Sunday. Casper high schools and Casper College basketball teams were in action over the weekend.
There's a full slate of games along with regional wrestling tournaments this weekend in the area. Casper's wrestling teams are in regional action and there's some key basketball games.
The latest wyopreps.com/Coach's/Media girls basketball polls has Sheridan, Douglas, Lovell and Snake River remaining number one this week. Sheridan and Lovell picked up enough polling points to remain on top despite losses last week.
Sheridan was knocked from the unbeaten ranks last weekend as Laramie beat the two top teams in 4A. The Lady Plainsmen beat number one Sheridan 69-58 and number two Gillette 46-44.
Big Horn and Little Snake River boys basketball teams remain unbeaten through last week's games. The other two top ranked teams, Gillette and Torrington also notched victories.
