The Wyoming Cowgirls hung tough all game long, but didn't have enough to overcome the potent 1-2 punch of Courtney Clements and Chelsea Hopkins of San Diego State in a 57-51 loss Wednesday night at the Arena-Auditorium. The league-leading Aztecs took the lead for good with an 11-3 run at the start of the second half and held off any Cowgirl challenge. Clements and Hopkins combined for 41 of SDSU's 57 points.

A clutch pass and a pair of free throws from Chaundra Sewell helped the Wyoming Cowgirls pull out a 66-65 down to the wire win at Nevada Wednesday night in Reno. It marked the sixth straight win for UW in conference play. Sewell led four Cowgirls in double figures, as she recorded her ninth double-double this season with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Chaundra Sewell had 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to keep the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team undefeated at home and beat Boise State 77-60 on Saturday in the Arena-Auditorium.

For the second time this season, Wyoming forward Kayla Woodward earned Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played from Jan. 28-Feb. 3, 2013. It is the fourth honor of her MW career.

Four Cowgirls scored in double figures to push Wyoming past rival Colorado State, 82-67, on Saturday in Laramie.

Behind a career high 27 points from Kaitlyn Mileto, the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team earned their first conference road win, 86-48, over the Air Force Falcons Saturday afternoon in Colorado Springs. A 14-0 run in the first half put the Cowgirls in control, as they won their second straight.

Kayla Woodward had 23 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the Wyoming Cowgirls past the UNLV Lady Rebels 76-54 Wednesday night at the Arena-Auditorium. The Cowgirls used a 19-5 run over six minutes of the first half to break the game open and improved to 9-0 at home this season.

Five Wyoming players scored in double figures to push the Cowgirls past Nevada, 92-41, on Saturday in Laramie. The 92 points is the most scored by UW this season while the 41 points given up is the second lowest.

Women's Division I basketball has their final set with Connecticut, Notre Dame punching their tickets Tuesday night. Colorado Rockies lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks in Cactus League play 7-3.

Oklahoma State, which dealt with the tragic deaths of 10 people in a 2001 plane crash, including some men’s basketball players, is reeling from another crash that took the lives of women’s basketball coach Kurt Budke and an assistant coach, Miranda Serna.
