Wyoming's 3A and 4A boys and girls state basketball tournaments continue today through Saturday at the Casper Events Center and Casper College. Both the Casper schools in the 4A tournament have advanced to the semifinals tonight. The Kelly Walsh boys with a 29-26 win over Cheyenne Central Thursday afternoon. They will play Evanston for the fourth time this season tonight in the first semifinal at 7:30pm at the Casper Events Center. Evanston the defending champions beat Laramie in overtime 64-54. Riverton over Cheyenne South 65-46 and Gillette trounced Rock Springs 67-23. Riverton will play Gillette at 9:00pm.

In the 4A girls, Natrona fortunate to advance to the semifinals needing overtime to beat Laramie 39-36. Neither team played very well with NC shooting just 22 percent from the field and hitting only 4 of 34 3-point shots, but that 4th made three from Lexi Switzer with 12 seconds remaining in the overtime turned out to be the winner. They will play Gillette at 6:00pm tonight at the Events Center. Gillette took care of Evanston 40-16. In the top bracket, Sheridan beat Green River 73-37 and Cheyenne East over Rock Springs 51-21. Sheridan and East will play at 4:30pm. Both the Natrona and Kelly Walsh Games tonight can be heard on AM 1400 ESPN.

In 3A boys, Douglas who won the east region lost to the number four team in the west Lander 57-34. Star Valley crushed Wheatland 56-31. Cody nipped Rawlins 49-46 and Powell over Newcastle 50-34. It will be an all west semifinal with Lander and Star Valley at 7:30pm and rivals Powell and Cody at 9:00.

In the 3A girls, Star Valley with a big win over Buffalo 64-32, Rawlins downed Powell 55-45. In the bottom bracket, Newcastle edged Lyman 38-35 and Douglas remains unbeaten with a 56-28 win over Lander. In the semifinals, Star Valley and Rawlins at 4:30 and Newcastle and Douglas at 6:00pm. State championship games will be played Saturday at the Events Center.
