Trojans Take 3rd; Fillies 4th in State Tournament

The Kelly Walsh Trojans took home 3rd place in the 4A State Boys Tournament Saturday afternoon beating Gillette 49-41 at Erickson Gym at Casper College. The Trojans were led in scoring by Kooper Adams with 23 points. And a strong defensive performance by Jacob Tapp who held Gillette's Cody Kelley the state's leading scorer to just 3 points through through 3 quarters. Kelley ended up with 13 points, 7 under his average. The Trojans finish the year at 17-12 on the year and graduate just two seniors in Tapp and Marco Sanchez. The Camels finish at 23-4.

The Natrona Fillies lost to the Sheridan Lady Broncs Saturday afternoon at Erickson Gym 48-43. The Fillies were led by Kaylee Johnson with 22 points. The Lady Broncs were led by Hailey Ligocki with 16. Sheridan finishes the season with a record of 23-3 and Natrona at 22-5.
