Senior Tyler Anderson and junior Audra DeStefano won conference titles at the 2016 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships last weekend.

DeStefano surpassed her own school record and won the steeplechase in 10:07.35 Friday. That time was four seconds better than her previous school mark and ranks 20th in the NCAA this season. DeStefano earned the 30th individual MW outdoor title for the Cowgirls. It’s the first in the steeplechase since 2009.

Anderson threw a personal best 202-9 for a victory in the hammer throw. It’s Wyoming’s first win in the event since 2004. Anderson claimed the 29th individual MW outdoor crown.

Other notable performances included senior McKenzie Brogan came in third in the 400 hurdles for the Cowgirls. As for the Cowboys, junior Jordan Charles was third in the 110 hurdles and fourth in the 400 hurdles. Senior Kyle Sullivan was fourth in the decathlon, and sophomore Garrett Lynch took fifth in the discus.

The Cowboys finished sixth with 44 points, while the Cowgirls tied for ninth with 35 points. The Colorado State women and Air Force men captured the MW team championships in Clovis, CA.
