There were some close votes in the latest coaches/media rankings, and there are 2 #1 vs. #2 matchups on this week's schedule...both of which are rematches from not long ago.

The most anticipated rematch is in 4A. Gillette is the unanimous #1, and the Camels visit #2 Cheyenne Central on Saturday. Provided both take care of business on Friday vs. Cheyenne East and Sheridan respectively, fans could be in for a treat. The Camels won 2 weeks ago in double OT in Campbell County, and the Indians have been waiting patiently for another shot, and they get it, in their own gym. Kelly Walsh made a move up the rankings to #3, heading into their Peach Basket clash vs. unranked Natrona. The Mustangs won 3 weeks ago, but since then, the 2 teams have gone in different directions. Rock Springs drops to #4 after losing to the Trojans last week, and Cheyenne South falls one spot to #5.

The other big rematch is in 3A. #1 Worland visits #2 Douglas on Friday. The Warriors won by 13 last month, and the Bearcats are out to prove that it was just that...last month. After that, Douglas has another ranked opponent, and that would be #4 Buffalo on Saturday. Rawlins stays put at #3, and needs to be very careful this weekend. They visit Torrington on the Friday, and as of late, the TrailBlazers have been showing signs of life. After that game, Rawlins returns home to face Wheatland. That another game to be careful with, because the Bulldogs won the first game last month. Elsewhere in the rankings, Star Valley is back in at #5.

Aside from #1, there are a few question marks in 2A. Wind River is once again the unanimous #1, and they've been proving it as of late. Pine Bluffs has been taking care of their business in the East, enabling the Hornets to move up to #2, by 1 vote ahead of Greybull who is down to #3. The big question is, why are the Buffs ranked ahead of #4 Wyoming Indian, when the Chiefs beat the Buffs at Greybull last week, at the buzzer? WIHS had a great recovery, after being blown by 40 vs. WR, and maybe the voters remember that more than the win vs. Greybull? Finally, Big Horn is the rankings at #5. The Rams also have a victory vs. Greybull this season, and they've been building on it.

The pot has been stirred in 1A. Defending champ Burlington is back on top. Kaycee moves up to #2, after their victory against former #1, now #4 Upton, which leaves Encampment at #3. The Tigers have won 11 straight, but can't seem to convince the voters to move them up any higher. St. Stephens has also been on a roll as of late, and they are still ranked #5.
