Several teams not ranked in the pre-season, impressed the coaches and media on opening weekend to get a ranking this week.

It's a close vote on top of 4A. Campbell County edged out Cheyenne East by 1 vote. The Lady Camels have the week off to prepare for a tournament in Las Vegas, while the Lady Thunderbirds head back to Colorado for more out of state competition. Kelly Walsh's undefeated start has earned them a #3 ranking. The Lady Trojans host Montana teams this weekend. Like the boys, Rock Springs and Evanston are ranked #4 and #5, heading into this weekend's Flaming Gorge Classic.

Although it's early in the season, it's pretty clear as to who the top 2 teams are in 3A. #1 Douglas and #2 Lyman have a pretty big lead in the rankings vs. the other teams. This weekend the Lady Bearcats will take on 3A competition in Lander, while the Lady Eagles will play at the Flaming Gorge Classic. Buffalo impressed voters to be ranked #3, but play again until after the Christmas Holiday. #4 Powell is done, until after the winter break. Rawlins holds steady at #5, heading into this weekend's games in Sweetwater County.

The 2A has almost flipped on itself compared to the pre-season. Greybull is ranked at #1. The Lady Buffalos will rematch #4 Lusk this weekend. The first encounter was a close one at Glenrock. Sundance is off to a good start as well, and carry the #2 spot this week, while Pine Bluffs checks in at #3. Wyoming Indian rounds out the top 5, and they will host various teams from the 2A Northeast this weekend.

The new 1A rankings are dominated by the west. Encampment and Little Snake River maintain their #1 and #2 rankings respectively. Cokeville and St. Stephens switch spots at #3 and #4, while Farson-Eden continues to be ranked #5. The ranked teams will either play at Lingle-Ft. Laramie or at Shoshoni this weekend.
