Big conference games are on the schedule, and at least 1 of the 4 undefeated teams will no longer be undefeated, after this weekend.

The latest coaches/media poll has no changes in 4A from last week and the top 3 are unanimous. It's undefeated East, Sheridan and Gillette in that order. Central and Natrona maintain the #4 and #5 spots as well. A Capital City battle is brewing Friday night, when #4 and #1 clash for the first time this season.

3A has a new #1. The voters were impressed with Rawlins' win at former #1 Douglas last week, that the Lady Outlaws have climbed up to the top spot, ahead of Star Valley who remains at #2. Powell is up 1 spot to #3, also thanks to a win at Douglas last week, while the Lady Bearcats fall to #4, thanks to their 3rd straight loss. Wheatland is now in the rankings at #5, and have their eyes on a big Saturday conference home game vs. Rawlins.

Assuming they survive Friday, all eyes will be on 2A, come Saturday. It will be #1 at #2, and it could also be undefeated vs. undefeated, when Southeast travels to Burns. First the Lady Cyclones have to deal with Lusk, while the Lady Broncs will have a tougher challenge at unranked Pine Bluffs. As for the rest of the rankings, Thermopolis is #3, by 1 vote ahead of co-#4's Wyoming Indian and Lyman.

Cokeville will remain undefeated and #1 in 1A through this weekend, because they have no game scheduled. Little Snake River jumps over Lingle-Ft. Laramie for the #2 ranking, bumping the defending state champ Lady Doggers down to #3. Upton is up to #4, heading into their conference opener at unranked Kaycee, which will be a battle for the first in the northeast. A lot head scratching surrounds the #5 spot. St. Stephens is 9-2 and easily took care of business last week AT Burlington, to take over first in the northwest, but somehow they are not ranked, and the Lady Huskies still are. Perhaps a voter was not paying full attention to the standings, in more than one way.
