Big games to start the second half of the season could impact the bigger classes of the latest coaches/media polls, while the smaller classes are settling down some.

There's no change in the latest 4A poll, but it doesn't matter heading into the weekend. Each of the top 4 teams will be in Cheyenne to do battle. On Friday, it's #3 Gillette at #1 East as well as #2 Sheridan at #4 Central. Then on Saturday, East and Central will trade opponents. For now, voters just have to wait and let the teams play it out, and see if the Lady Thunderbirds can stay undefeated. In the west, #5 Natrona, resumes conference play with home games vs. Evanston and Riverton.

3A had a little bit of a shake-up, except at the top spot. Rawlins is the unanimous #1. Powell moved ahead of Star Valley for #2, and bumped the Lady Braves down to #3, but they both lost week vs. unranked opponents. Our guess on the move, was that it was because SV lost at home last week. Douglas holds at #4, while Lovell in at #5. The Lady Bulldogs are in for a good game Saturday, when they host SV.

For now, we all know who is on top of 2A. Southeast is the unanimous #1 and still undefeated, after their comeback at previously undefeated, and still #2 Burns. Thermopolis is still #3, while Lyman holds at #4. Pine Bluffs moves at #5, largely in part to Wyoming Indian loss to unranked Kemmerer last week.

Things in 1A are just as calm at 2A for now. Undefeated Cokeville is still #1, while Little Snake River is still #2. Upton moves up 1 spot to #3, bumping Lingle-Ft. Laramie to #4. The lady Doggers will have their hands full this week, vs. ranked 2A opponents (Burns and Pine Bluffs). Last but not least, St. Stephens is finally in the rankings at #5
